Our Guest Bedroom Design Board

Happy Wednesday! I wanted to share with you the concept board I made for our guest bedroom this morning. As of right now, the bedroom contains only a bed, a mattress, and random quilts so I’m hoping to totally transform that room for our next project. When I envision that room being one that our families stay in while they visit, I see it being a space of calm, serenity. I currently have a black frame “farmhouse” bed, which I LOVE, and have always wanted for that room. Although I’m not aiming for a farmhouse theme, I feel like it will be a good staple piece that will help me achieve a traditional and classic style. Here is the list of to-do’s and style goals for that space:

  1. Color Scheme: Black, Cream, Natural, Denim Blue

  2. Black Bed Frame (check!)

  3. Black curtain rod with natural blinds, and cream colored curtains

  4. Cream colored bedding (comforter and shams)

  5. Throw pillows/blanket: denim blue, textured mix of blues and grey’s, stripe natural pattern)

  6. Bleached wood end table with black hardware (to tie in with the black bed frame and black curtain rod)

  7. Decor: greenery in a vase with blue, cream, and tan; Stack of design books

  8. Wall Color: I want this color to be a white paint color that has a warm, taupe-y base. I don’t want the walls to be stark white, but I still want it to be bright & airy, because it’s a small room with only one window. An actual paint color would be too overbearing.
