Sunday Night Bedtime Essentials

Hey! I hope everyone has had a wonderful weekend and is getting ready to prepare for the new week ahead. One of my favorite times of the weekend is Sunday night because I love the thought of a fresh start ahead. The house is clean, the scrubs are washed, and groceries are stocked ready for Monday morning and so forth. It can also be a little bit of an anxious time for me when it comes to falling asleep, just because I do get really excited about a new week and the anticipation of what it will bring. I don't know if I'm the only one that struggles with that, but anyways, I've put together a list of a few tools that can make Sunday nights a little bit easier for ya when it comes to winding down for sleep.

1. She Reads Truth Bible Before I go to sleep at night I always try to do  this anyways, but I'll look up a topic in the bible and read through it just to ease my mind. It might not be for more than 10 minutes, and i might not have an extensive study of notes written or anything, but I'm at least reminded of God's truth and I strongly believe that's essential for a the start of a new week/day. A lot of the reason I have a little bit of anxiety on Sunday nights is because I know that every week is not going to be absolutely perfect. I get excited about the laughs that I'll get to share with my coworkers or the fun things Nathan and I might do during that week, but I also know that there will be challenges to face just pushing through each day and that's why I read a little out of my bible and pray before I go to bed. If I'm not constantly being reminded of God's truth and who I am through His Son Jesus, then the world gets heavy and makes me feel far from the Truth. I love the She Reads Truth Bible because 1. their ministry is just awesome anyways, but 2. the bible is color coded throughout, has devotions & clear navigation through different topics, and is illustrated beautifully which i feel i can connect better to because I'm a person who loves creativity. Being surrounded by that speaks to me more. I hope to do a post here soon where I take you through this bible and share my routine for when i dig deep into the Word.

2. Day Designer Planner I found this planner at Target last week and I absolutely love it. The organization of it works so great for me because it shows you a monthly calendar and it breaks down each day of the month, but my favorite part is that on the pages for each day, it breaks it down by hour! I work Part-Time at the Orthopedic Clinic here in Tallahassee, so i've been looking for one that had that hourly option so i could block out the times of the day I'm at work and plan household duties around that. I love planning everything out on Sunday night so that I can pour every plan/task that's running through my brain for the week out onto paper through a monthly, weekly, and daily glance and I feel so organized when I do this. Not to mention it can just make you feel all sophisticated, Lol.

3. Immune Support + Chamomile Tea. I usually drink the Immune Support blend every other day anyways along with the vitamins I take. Since I do work in a medical setting I do everything I can to make sure my immune system is kicking like it should. On Sunday nights I add Chamomile Tea with it to help calm down, and it really does relax me.

4. Doterra's "Balance" Essential Oil Blend Okay, this is by far my favorite oil to diffuse that DoTerra has because it not only is a clean, and purifying smell, but it provides the most grounding, and calming scent. Balance is a proprietary blend, meaning that it is a blend of two or more essential oils. Balance contains Coconut Oil, Spruce, Ho Leaf, Frankincense, Blue Tansy, and Blue Chamomile. I diffuse this almost every night because the combination of these oils, really relax and ease my mind.

"doTERRA’s grounding blend, appropriately named doTERRA Balance, promotes tranquility while bringing harmony to the mind and body, and balance to the emotions."

I really hope that you enjoyed reading this post and hope that it can provide some insight into difference organization/calming techniques to help you through your routine. I would love to know some of your tips and tricks that you use to help with this as well!
